Yu Zhang (Joseph) knew he wanted to become a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) practitioner since his early years in China. When he was just 6 months old, he suffered from severe chronic diarrhoea that delayed his physical development. So his parents were desperate to seek help from a TCM practitioner after all the other ways failed to improve the condition. His diarrhoea had been cured with traditional Chinese herbal treatment. This experience had enhanced the family’s belief in TCM. His parents told little Joseph this story again and again. When Joseph grew up, he chose TCM as his first preference of university courses without doubt.
Joseph obtained his bachelor degree of health Science in TCM from university of Chengdu TCM in 1994, he spent a few years working as a Chinese medicine practitioner in the hospital in Chong Qing, where he had developed a broad understanding of diseases from chronic cough to insomnia, from recurring mouth ulcers to menopause etc. Since he settled in
