Kate is a practitioner of Japanese and Chinese Acupuncture, and a birth educator, epidemiologist, educator and researcher. She is also the mother of three beautiful girls. She has completed her PhD at the National Institute for Complementary Medicine Research (NICM) at UWS. The topic of the research was investigating an antenatal education course incorporating complementary medicines for pain relief in labour and birth for first time mothers. She is currently a tutor and lecturer at UWS and a researcher at Notre Dame University, faculty of Medicine.
Kate’s particular interests are women’s health, hormonal transitions and lifetime transitions, including adolescence, fertility, pregnancy and menopause. She also has an interest in sleeping issues and diabetes. She believes that acupuncture is extremely effective for hormonal balancing within the body to help a large number of health issues.
