Dr Szabo is a clinical psychologist, academic researcher and university lecturer. She has 20 years’ experience and expertise in treating disorders related to excessive anxiety, worry, stress, and depression. These disorders can become chronic, especially if they develop in the context of early childhood difficulties, trauma, loss, grief, and limited support. Dr Szabo’s main approach to treatment is Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), known to be the ‘gold standard’ treatment for many psychological disorders. For chronic or complex difficulties, she combines her CBT skills with Schema Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Mindfulness-based approaches.
