Individual counselling focuses on helping a client to clarify an issue, build their strengths and find solutions. Couples counselling can enable a couple to reconnect and resolve conflict. I am trained in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy which enables a couple to identify unmet needs and negative patterns so that they can find new ways of relating in a safe and loving way.
The counselling process involves personal growth through insight and the learning of strategies and skills: assertive communication; setting healthy boundaries; processing grief/loss; regulating moods; resolving old pain.
