Dr Tharani Kamalasuriya joined the team at Maven Dental Newcastle midway through 2019. Tharani is a compassionate and driven dentist that always strives to give her patients a positive experience at the dentist. As a dentist she enjoys being able to instil confidence in her patients to smile and actively participate in the care of their oral health and well-being.
Originally from Sri Lanka, Tharani moved to Australia with her family at a young age. Her drive and ambition as a dental professional comes from her family’s strong background in the medical and health industry.
Dr Kamalasuriya graduated from the University of Sydney with a Doctor of Dental Medicine in 2018. She has experience working in major clinics including the Sydney Dental Hospital, the Westmead Centre for Oral Health, and Nepean Hospital. During her studies she also enjoyed a placement in the rural NSW town of Ballina.
Tharani is an active member of the ADA and places high importance on furthering her skills.
