Originally from Newcastle, Jo left home to study Bachelor of Dental Surgery at the University of Adelaide. Excelling at university, Jo was invited to develop educational modules for the University’s prosthodontics program. Always a strong advocate for rural and remote health, after graduating, she worked rurally on the NSW Mid North Coast before returning to Newcastle and joining our team at Maven Dental Newcastle in 2013.
Jo is a general dentist with a passion for preventative dentistry. She loves helping her patients, both young and old, maintain their oral health throughout their lifetime. She is currently conducting research into oral health promotion and evidence based best preventative practice. Dr Li also has a keen interest in pre & perinatal oral health care, paediatrics, prosthodontics & orthodontics.
Jo places a high importance on keeping her practice up to date, regularly attending courses and conferences both domestically and internationally.
