A highly qualified and experienced surgeon, Dr. Shammas is a fellow of the Royal Australian College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists.
She obtained her Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery in 1996, and went on to complete an internship at the Nepean Hospital.
Dr. Shammas commenced her specialist training in Sydney in 2007, and she continued with this to complete a fellowship in 2013.
She also managed gynaecology problems, which include heavy periods (menorrhagia), Pelvic organ prolapse, urinary incontinence, Pelvic masses including ovarian cysts, fibroids, menopausal symptoms, sexual dysfunction such as vaginismus, pelvic pain, and abnormal pap smears (colposcopy). Dr Shammas is trained in minimally invasive surgery and she is a certified Colposcopic for abnormal Pap Smear & Most gynaecological procedures are performed laparoscopically
