Sani graduated with Honours from UWA in 1994 and went onto doing his internship and residency at Royal Perth Hospital before gaining selection for advanced training in orthopaedics. During this time, he was awarded the Gordon-Gordon Taylor medal for highest mark in Australia and New Zealand for the primary surgical examination. Sani has completed additional sub-specialty training in sports surgery in Canberra, hip and knee surgery (arthroplasty and sports) in Sydney, and hip and knee arthroplasty surgery in one of the most prestigious arthroplasty units in North America, in London, Ontario, Canada. Sani has a keen interest in all aspects of hip and knee surgery, including:
