Sam is an Australian and internationally trained orthopaedic surgeon with a particular interest in reconstructive and trauma surgery of the hip & knee. He completed his residency at Sir Charles Gairdner & Royal Perth Hospitals then undertook advanced training in orthopaedic surgery in WA. After completing training Sam spent two years on fellowship in Australia and overseas where he trained in complex & revision surgery as well as pelvic & acetabular fracture surgery. In addition to specialised joint reconstruction surgery, Sam gained hands on training in robotic joint replacement, assisting Professor Crawford with Australia’s first robotic total hip. Sam then moved to London, Ontario to undertake their prestigious adult reconstruction fellowship where he gained the North American approach to joint replacement & revision surgery, gaining experience in direct anterior hip replacement & hip resurfacing surgery.
