Dr. Bower was educated in Perth at Perth Modern School and graduated from UWA with a BDSc (Hons). Five years later he graduated with an MDSc in periodontics from UWA. Since then he has worked as a periodontist and taught for periods of one to two years at the Royal Dental Hospital (London), the University of Michigan, and the university of Umeå (Sweden). While working in Perth Dr. Bower has maintained a specialist periodontal practice, taught periodontics and radiology at the UWA Dental School for over 20 years, and worked as a consultant periodontist at Princess Margaret hospital for over 30 years.
Dr. Bower maintains an interest in art, fishing and bush camping when time permits.
