Damien graduated as a physiotherapist in 1990. His junior years as a physio began at John Hunter Hospital and later in 1993 at Howzat, Newcastle. In late 1993, he ventured overseas to America where he spent a total of nine years practicing physiotherapy, interspersed with global travels including a six-month self-guided journey through East Africa. He lived in Michigan and North Carolina while in the USA and gained a different perspective on physical therapy and health care, working in this country.
Since returning to Australia in 2002, Damien settled into directing this physiotherapy practice (previously named More Moves Physiotherapy) with Chris Baker for five years. In 2009, Damien became the sole director of The Physio Joint. He practices full time and very much continues to enjoy helping people move and feel better. He has three children, Annabelle (14), Jessie (10) and Joe (9).
Damien is currently doing his PhD in Headache treatment at the University of Newcastle.
