Shioto is qualified with a PhD in Biomechanics from University of Western Australia, and an accredited physiotherapist in Japan, having held a position as a senior practitioner/clinical supervisor for 7 years at a leading tertiary university hospital in central Tokyo.
Previous to founding Bentley Clinical Massage, Dr Shioto Fukushima served as a top level senior therapist at Perth's leading sports massage clinic, where he combined his unique set of experience to provide hands on care for 12 years.
Shioto has had a career in academia as a lecturer at Edith Cowan University, School of Medical and Health Sciences. He has taught clinical exercise physiology (musculoskeletal), and exercise rehabilitation courses whilst conducting clinical research involving optimal rehabilitation.
Dr Fukushima received a PhD in applied biomechanics of the spine at UWA and worked with professors there to deliver postgraduate manual therapy (short) courses (manual therapy and sports physiotherapy
