Lani was first exposed to acupuncture and Chinese medicine during regular visits to Sydney as a small child. With her Chinese heritage, Lani feels she was fortunate to experience relief from her childhood skin conditions, brought by the skilled application of acupuncture and Chinese herbs.
Her interest in health and wellness, family heritage, and personal experiences, led Lani to study Chinese Medicine. She holds a five-year Diploma of Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine from the Academy of Classical Oriental Sciences in Nelson, B.C., Canada and has a background in Mandarin and psychology.
After 16 years in Canada, Lani returned to her hometown of Newcastle to establish the Poke Acupuncture clinic in Lambton.
Lani’s treatments are patient-focused, with an emphasis on comfort and customised, raw, medicinal teas. Lani’s professional interests include treating dermatological conditions and sleep disorders.
