Dr Wegman is a Clinical Gastroenterologist in the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney. Dr Wegman graduated his medical studies with Honours from the University of NSW in 1978 and obtained his Fellowship at the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 1985. He continued his study with a PhD in Gastrointestinal Physiology from the School of Medicine at the University of Sydney, awarded in 1993.Dr Wegman’s special interests include diagnosis of and management of inflammatory bowel disease, coeliac disease and irritable bowel syndrome. Helicobacter pylori and the diagnosis and management of early bowel cancer are particularly challenging. Dr Wegman maintains a special interest in looking at disease from the perspective of abnormal physiology.
