Dr. Ian Katz graduated with First Class Honours from the University of Cape Town Medical School in 1987. After three years’ research in Cape Town and in Philadelphia, he moved to Australia in 1991.
Dr. Katz established Southern Sun Pathology in July 2002.
Since then, he has focused almost exclusively on the clinical and pathologic diagnosis, management, prevention and treatment of skin cancer. Dr. Katz has helped over 10,000 people overcome skin cancer.
He has performed thousands of biopsies and excisions himself and has extensive experience in the dermatoscopic diagnosis of pigmented and non-pigmented skin lesions.
