Sam is from Saskatchewan, Canada, and did his training at the University of Waterloo in Ontario. He has also done an internship in ocular disease at Houston Eye Associates in Houston, Texas.
He met his future wife, Carla (also an optometrist) in 2013 and the rest is history! They have practiced in the Perth area since 2014, and in 2020 figured it was the right year to open their own practice, Monocle Optometry!
Sam and Carla are comfortable in assessing visual learning problems, myopia control, contact lenses, diabetic screenings, red eyes, dry eye, safety eye wear, blue light control and LASIK candidates. They are always on the lookout for eye diseases such as glaucoma, macular degeneration and cataracts, and are happy to see patients of all ages including young children.
When not being an optometrist, Sam plays guitar, volleyball, tennis, pool, bowling (well lots of things really) and enjoys gardening as well!
