Dr Meer received his Bachelor of Dental Science from Wits University, South Africa in 1993. He was awarded a Postgraduate Diploma in Oral Surgery from the University of Pretoria in 1996 (with distinction). In 2000, he relocated to Cape Town to specialise in Maxillo-Facial and Oral Surgery (MFOS) at the University of Stellenbosch/Western Cape, which he completed in 2004, cum laude.
Dr Meer has taught undergraduate and postgraduate students in four of the five dental schools in South Africa. He was in private practice in Cape Town, and was a consultant in MFOS at the University of the Western Cape before emigrating to Australia in 2007.
In 2008/2009, Dr Meer was the Acting Discipline Lead in MFOS at Griffith University, Gold Coast. He has completed the Australian Dental Council (ADC) Examination, and is fully registered as a dentist with the AHPRA. Mohammed is also an accredited ADC examiner in Oral Surgery. In 2012, Mohammed has completed a Graduate Certificate in Higher Education.
