Dr Matthew Yalizis is Sydney born and educated and completed his medical degree at the University of Sydney in 2003. He was selected into the Australian Orthopaedic Association training programme and he worked in some of the largest trauma centres in the state and the ACT and was awarded his Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2013.
After gaining his fellowship from Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) he spent two years in sub-specialist shoulder, elbow and orthopaedic trauma training in Sydney, Melbourne, USA and France during 2014 and 2015. This included a Shoulder and Sports fellowship at St Vincent’s Hospital in Sydney and was followed by a Shoulder and Elbow fellowship with A/Prof Gregory Hoy at the Melbourne Orthopaedic Group in 2014. He continued his training overseas in 2015 completing a Shoulder fellowship with internationally renowned shoulder surgeons Dr Gilles Walch and Dr Arnaud Godeneche at Centre Orthopédique Santy in Lyon France.
