Born in the Netherlands in a small country town in the Province of Friesland where he received his primary school education. In 1960 the family immigrated to Australia and thereafter attended High School in Plympton and Enfield. In 1968 Hans graduated with a degree in Physiotherapy from the University of Adelaide, with Credits. Thereafter, he worked at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital for a number of years and was later appointed assistant Chief Physiotherapist before completing post-graduate studies in Manipulative Therapy. This was followed by an appointment as a tutor at the School of Physiotherapy followed by 10 years as a Regional Physiotherapist in the Northern Territory. In 1988 Hans commenced Private Practice at the Port Adelaide Medical Centre. In 2020 Hans was awarded membership of the “Australian College of Physiotherapists” – for “distinctive service and expertise in Physiotherapy” In July 2025 Hans moved to a new clinic at 117 Commercial Road, Port Adelaide.
