Alan qualified as a registered psychologist in 2001. The tertiary training included a B.A with an extended major in psychology completed in 1996 (Deakin University) and a Graduate Diploma of Applied Science (Psychology) at the University of Ballarat in 1998.
Alan started in this field at a later stage of life which he has found very much to his advantage. He has worked in a variety of areas before commencing practice in Counseling Psychology. This included working in roles related to trade, sales, technical field work and allied health as a massage therapist. Alan has been running his own private practice on a part time basis for over twenty years. This practice initially focused on massage therapy, until he completed qualifications and obtained registration as a psychologist which he now focuses on exclusively. He has found that his own past experiences, both personally and professionally have given him a good understanding and the ability to empathise with all clients.
