Throughout my life I’ve spent a lot of time talking to doctors as a patient. Having chronic kidney disease resulting in dialysis for a number of years, and two kidney transplants tends to make one consider mortality and quality of life. It was while I was on dialysis (dialysis is where you are hooked up to a machine that artificially filters your blood the same way a normal kidney in the body would) that I decided that I wanted to do something related to health. If I was going to be going through all the medical stuff anyway, why not make use of the experience.
