Dr Kiel is an Australian-trained Gastroenterologist. Dr Kiel completed advanced medical training in the field of Gastroenterology at Nambour and Royal Brisbane Hospitals, before completing a year as the Inflammatory Bowel Disease and Functional Gastrointestinal Fellow at the Princess Alexandra Hospital. Post training, Dr Kiel completed a clinical observership at the Royal Melbourne Hospital with a focus on functional gastrointestinal disorders.
Dr Kiel sees patients with all gastrointestinal conditions, but has a special interest in both Inflammatory Bowel Diseases and Functional Gastrointestinal Disorders. She is one of the few Gastroenterologists in Queensland trained in high-resolution oesophageal manometry-a procedure used to investigate patients with swallowing disorders.
