Dr Kwon graduated from UNSW in 2000 and obtained his fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2009. He then completed sub-specialist training in Oesophago-Gastric and Bariatric Surgery with ANZGOSA in 2013, with fellowship training at John Hunter Hospital (Newcastle), St George Hospital (Sydney), Seoul National University Hospital (Seoul, Korea), Cancer Institute Hospital (Tokyo, Japan) and Royal Victoria Infirmary (Newcastle Upon Tyne, UK).
His Oesophago-Gastric Surgery expertise include: Laparoscopic Radical D2 (extended lymphadenectomy) Gastrectomy for cancer, Laparoscopic repair of Complex, Para-oesophageal hiatus hernia, Laparoscopic resection of GIST (gastro-intestinal stromal tumours), Laparoscopic Heller myotomy for achalasia, Anti-reflux surgery (Fundoplication), Laparoscopic and Open Splenectomy and Management of Barrett’s oesophagus.
