Vern graduated with Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Hons) in University of Melbourne in 2006. She has worked in both hospital and private practice settings in Malaysia before returning to Melbourne in 2011. Since then, she has worked in the areas of geriatrics, chronic pain management and spinal physiotherapy.
Over the last four years, Vern has focused on enhancing her skills in the management of spinal conditions, complex and chronic pain management. She emphasizes on utilising biomechanics assessment for appropriate diagnosis; assessing the human body as a whole, rather than isolated body parts. She tends to utilise muscle energy techniques and myofascial release and dry needling in the management of muscle and joint pain, and various sports injury. She also encourages patients to develop body awareness via exercise therapy to facilitate self-management of their conditions.
